The split I am willing to print
Hot Pursuit 2010, and the 2020 remaster, are the cop-and-racer games. The question people actually type is about the mode where AI cops chase you. That is Hot Pursuit mode, and it is not the same thing as a multiplayer lobby. The 2010 game shipped with online for up to eight players. Remastered added cross-play. A Steam thread still has players arranging public sessions; that is one source, so I am not declaring the 2010 servers busy. I am also not declaring them closed, because I did not find an EA shutdown notice I am willing to pair with a date. Hot Pursuit 2 from 2002 is a different game and stays on the full games table only. If you want the interceptor fantasy in 2026, buy the remaster from a store and use its multiplayer menu. Browser “hot pursuit” pages are usually something else.
