Need for Speed: Underground 2

Online modes and ways to play

Underground 2 is where search results lie the most. A large share of the ranking pages are single-player emulator or GBA pages, and they do not put you in a lobby with anyone else.

The split I am willing to print

Underground 2 is where search results lie the most. A large share of the ranking pages are single-player emulator or GBA pages, and they do not put you in a lobby with anyone else. The 2004 game had official online on PS2, PC, and Xbox until 1 Aug 2006. LAN on PC still exists in the original game. Insignia announced an original-Xbox revival in September 2025; I date that from the announcement, not from a player count. In the browser, three projects disagree with each other on purpose: nfsu2.xyz describes online races and free roam, nfsunderground2.site describes a two-player private room, and nfsu2.org says it is single-player. I will not average those into “UG2 online works.” Pick the sentence that matches the domain you actually opened. Browser support differs: nfsu2.xyz names Chrome and Firefox, while the other two projects name desktop Chrome/Edge with WebGPU. Saves are local by default; nfsu2.xyz also describes optional cloud synchronization. Export a backup before deleting site data.

Routes named in public sources

  • nfsu2.xyz browser (online races + free roam)
  • nfsunderground2.site browser (2-player co-op room)
  • nfsu2.org browser (single-player only)
  • PC LAN over VPN
  • Insignia (original Xbox)
