Saves and cache

Do not wipe the career

Clearing site data is the common way a browser career disappears. Export first when the port allows it.

Where the save sits

NFSMW Online keeps the career on the account. The browser cache holds game files, so a cache clear costs you a long download, not necessarily the career, as long as you can still log in. Single-player ports such as JustPlayWeb and the old dezm0n build keep the save in browser storage. That one is gone if you wipe site data. nfsu2.xyz tells you to save from the garage, offers profile download/restore and lists optional Cloud saves. Those features are reported by the project itself (1 source). nfsunderground2.site uses a virtual memory card in the browser. NFSCO’s documentation puts aliases in %USERPROFILE%/Saved Games/NFSCO/aliases; do not confuse that PC location with browser storage.

People searching for a save editor are usually holding a 20CM Underground 2 file or a Most Wanted 1.3 English save. The open-source editors I will point at are hackch’s NFSU2 editor and x07x08’s Most Wanted editor. Both run in the browser on their own sites and do not need this domain. Editing a save and then using it on a community server can break that server’s rules. I am not walking through money or blacklist edits. Heat’s “save online” query is EA cloud storage for a different game, and these editors will not open it.

Questions

I cleared Chrome and my Underground 2 save vanished.

If you did not download the nfsu2.xyz profile backup, the save was in that browser profile. I cannot restore it from here.

Where is the NFSCO alias stored?

Under your user profile in Saved Games/NFSCO/aliases, according to the project docs.

Which save editor should I open?

For Underground 2, the hackch editor. For Most Wanted 1.3 English, the x07x08 editor. Download them from those repositories only.
